Gamestop employee accidentally confirms zombies for Black Ops? Rejoice,
zombie lovers around the world! An employee at Gamestop has seemingly
confirmed that the popular zombie mode will return to Call of Duty:
Black Ops.
It’s something that has often been speculated about but never
confirmed by Treyarch – the official word has always been a wink and a
‘no comment’. But now it appears that there is finally some concrete
evidence for the return of the much-loved gametype.
A member on the official Call of Duty forums, by the name of lilmike002001 posted up the following thread:
After hearing about the special edition releases of BlackOps I headed
to my local gamestop to upgrade my preorder. I asked the guy behind the
counter if he had anymore information on the special editions. He then
handed me a pamplet of 4 papers stapled together. The front page reads
‘Hardened edition details’ with 4 pictures dipicting the ‘medal’
‘avatar outfit’ ‘steelbook’ and a classic picture of WAW zombies on it.
Under the list of ‘summary of features’ it says “Four exclusive
Zombie maps from World at War updated for the Black Ops engine ($15
value)”

The images show what look to be internal Gamestop memos detailing
the Prestige and Hardened editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Crucially, the first image which contains details of the Hardened
Edition includes the following quote: “Four exclusive zombie maps from
World at War updated for the Black Ops engine ($15 value)”.
Activision has already confirmed in their official press release
that the Hardened and Prestige editions of Black Ops would ship with 4
exclusive co-op maps, but had not confirmed that these would feature
zombies. We've contacted an Activision rep for comment, and we'll
update this article as soon as we hear back.
In the meantime, several other posters reported that, having called
up their local Gamestop, they were told the same as lilmike002001: that
the co-op maps in the Special Editions of Black Ops would indeed be the
zombie maps from World at War.
Here's one of the pictures that lilmike002001 uploaded (click to enlarge):
